An Interesting Night

Due to the protests continuing, the kid I mentor spent the night last night since his mom was going to sleep in the capital.  He asked if he could stay over so as to not have to stay home alone and I agreed.  I have additional comments on parental responsibility here, but I’ll keep them to myself.

Anyways, so with him over all night I had to figure out exactly what we were going to do with the evening.  His goldthorn business is still running strong, so I knew he wanted to get some herbing in eventually.  But I dragged him through Setthek Halls at 67 and then Shadow Labs.  A few quests in Nagrand and a few in Netherstorm and he was 68.  His character is technically ready for Northrend now, I suppose I’ll drag her up there eventually, but he is set on making her farm goldthorn and selling for a profit.  Though he’s doubled his price on the AH and perhaps that’s too much and they won’t sell now.  We’ll see!!

While he was off farming herbs I looked over to Drak’Thar server to make a toon to sometimes harass the other bloggers over there.  I toyed with an undead hunter but I can’t get over their look, so I decided to make an orc:  Troutorc.  He’s a hunter and I’ll be honest, his little boar is adorable.  I got to level 5 before midnight and decided to log back to Elgar transmute a Truegold and then go to bed, but then I thought…hmmm…what’s this Tol Barad people are always talking about?

Alliance controlled it, though I don’t know what that really means?  And I got a bunch of quests which I will do.  No flying there made it a little weird, but I managed and soon realized that unlike other times I can’t really quest here in Disc spec.  Things took WAY too long to kill so I switched to shadow and did a few quests.  They were okay, but I should come back and do more of them eventually because I like pets and I hear they have a seagull!  Good times!

So all in all it was a weird night of all sorts of things happening.  Tonight it should be a little more routine, some archaeology, some questing, and some dailies.  Maybe even some scary PvP leveling with the Horde!

Really. I’ve been ganked all of once while leveling from 80 to 85. My lowbies all made it up to 20 and the questing in those level ranges is all in ‘safe’ zones where you are not yet flagged for PvP. You’ll be fine!

And if anyone DOES bother you, I have a big bad level 85 DK who will stomp them for you.

I am just so nervous about it. I don’t think I’ve ever successfully killed anyone 1 vs 1. I guess that is not True, Schubert killed a shaman in Sholazar once. But then used invisibility, ran away and hopped on a flight path to get unflagged. 😛

I was nervous about it at first, too. But that server is so overwhelmingly Horde … I don’t even think about it anymore. I just go out and do whatever I’ve set out to do. If anyone actually does attack me, I will be so shocked that I will stand there and die without fighting back because it will be sooooo out of the ordinary. LOL

        LMAO what Rep said.

It is kinda shocking ACTUALLY SEEING an alliance player. Really does make you stop and think…they really exist.

Leaving out comments about parenting as inappropriate for your blog – whathehellwasshethinking? – I think you should have rolled a little goblin hunter. They’re so insane…. I know Rep doesn’t like ’em…. but they’re really memorable, you know?

    • Troutwort Says:

Yes, but I would have had trouble with a name, and Troutorc just seemed awesome. Plus, don’t orcs have the increased pet damage thing?

      • Analogue Says:

        How about Gobtrout?

I don’t know what Horde racials are. I don’t even know what Alliance racials are! I roll what looks nice to me.

      • Troutwort Says:

“I roll what looks nice” is how I ended up with a warlock in the first place…though her name was Kittykat.

      • Analogue Says:

I have never ever picked a class based on starting dress.

My very first character was a dwarf huntress. So that tells you what “look nice” might mean… I could be happy playing any alliance race. Horde? Every time I try, I go “ugh, posture! Lack of jaw! Where’s her hair? MOOOO!” and roll a blood elf.

      • Troutwort Says:

        LMAO – “where’s her hair?”

      • repgrind Says:

What’s wrong with Mooo? I love my cows. 😛

Trout! Why didn’t you say something and get a guild invite? We are a level 17 guild, get your perks my friend!

I think Orcs & Trolls are the ones you want to play as a hunter. I know my brother is an Orc. Positive thing about Orcs – Their shoulder armor looks badass!

I will say that PvP just doesn’t happen unless it is a random thing. If you do get camped, there is a whole guild who will come “rescue” you. You haven’t seen the fury of Zug unleashed. ^_^

Troutorc? I love it!! If I didn’t have sooo many other neglected toons…
